Seniors back down to earth!

The seemingly inexorable 2008 surge of the Dalhousie Seniors' juggernaut was brought to a juddering halt at Edzell on August 25th when they lost by five and a half matches to one and a half in this season's return fixture. The splendid result over the Championship Course earlier in the season was MORE than reversed as the home team ran out comfortable winners. Despite the early threat of occasional heavy rain showers, the afternoon was just glorious, although a strong south-westerly made judgement of club and distance very difficult at times. Though slower, naturally, than Carnoustie's links, the course was in splendid condition. The company, as always, was excellent and the after-match meal and hospitality of the highest order. It is not difficult to see why the Edzell course remains one of the most popular destinations in Angus. As captain for the day Norman Howie was quick to point out, however, that revenge in season 2009 for Dalhousie will be eagerly anticipated!
